Paradise...

I wrote this poem abecedarian poem for my Creative Writing class last year, and it is actually about our honeymoon in Thailand though it could also be about the beautiful beaches here in North Carolina...

Auburn strands of light tease the dusk
Burnished flames flicker
Crimson tides slip and slide
Damson streaks stride across the sky
Ethereal and delicate as the moon shimmers
Fish dart around in the translucent waters
G
ashes created in the smooth sand by
Hammering waves pounding the shore
Iridescent foam glows under the moonlight
Jewels and treasures left behind
Kinks in the shells as they tumble and swirl
Lazily allowing their tormentor to do its will
Masquerading crabs dashing and darting
Never arriving at their destination
Oblivious seagulls always scavenging
Palatable scraps left behind
Quills are scattered on the breeze
Rushes of dreams flooding through
Sated waves calm themselves
Testimonies of the grains of sand
Unrequited melodies hum in the night
Vexed, but now soothed and relaxed
Waxing and waning, always reborn
Xanthophobia will come to an end
Yellow! Yellow! In all it’s glory.
Zanthoxylum Americanum!

    It's a start...

I have never blogged before, but here I am starting a blog mainly because I have to for a Digital Photography class I am taking. At first I felt reluctant because I don't like feeling exposed. Excuse the pun. I love taking photographs, and especially of my children, but do I know what I am doing? No. Not at all but I hope to soon. I know this will be a wonderful and frustrating and despairing and amazing journey and who knows where it may lead. Can't wait!
